Pepsi has created an ASMR trigger type advertisement.
It is not nearly as bold and impressive as the ASMR trigger type advertisement created previously by Dove Chocolate.
The Dove ads incorporated hand movements, eye gazing, plastic crinkling, focused task behavior, chewing/mouth sounds, and soft/whisper vocalizations.
So what type of ASMR triggering video did the marketing juggernaut of Pepsi create?
The Pepsi ad is a fizzy bottle of soda posted on Instagram.
Yep, that’s it.
But what makes the Pepsi ad worthy to mention here is that it is tagged as “#ASMR.” And that is a terrific nod to the ASMR community.
As well, Pepsi truly made the video a focused and quality sensory experience which will be sure to trigger ASMR in some viewers. Use headphones to maximize chance of fizzy tingles.
The ASMR artist, Heather Feather, wrote a post about this ad in the ASMR subreddit. She appropriately highlights the positive significance of a large corporation acknowledging ASMR in an advertisement.
The ad is a small step, but it is an important step.
