I’ve reported previously about spas in Canada and Ireland offering or considering ASMR-type services.
Brooklyn, NY, USA now joins the list with the announcement of Whisperlodge, a concept which is self-described as,
“An immersive spa for the senses, coaxing you to tune in to yourself with live ASMR.”
The description at one of the Whisperlodge websites continues with additional details,
There are two ASMR full-feature films in production right now and the director of each film reached out to me this week with some updates.
“Murmurs” began production in 2015 and the Director, Graeme Cole, shared the following update with me:
What do Eva Longoria (from the TV show Desperate Housewives), Cara Delevingne (from the movie Suicide Squad), and Juno Temple (from the TV show Vinyl) all have in common?
Each of these actors has recently created an ASMR video for W Magazine which is available for viewing on YouTube.
Mike Reed lives in Denmead, UK, has attended South Downs College, and has a Foundation Diploma in Fine Art from Portsmouth College Art & Design.
Mike also creates ASMR videos for his YouTube channel, “Show Me ASMR” and has begun production of a full feature length ASMR film titled, “P.A.I.N.”.
Mike’s movie “P.A.I.N.” now joins the movie “Murmurs” on a very short list of ASMR movies currently in production.
In my interview with Mike he shares his inspiration for creating an ASMR movie, information about other movies he has produced, why the movie is titled, “P.A.I.N.”, the types of ASMR triggers which will be incorporated into the production, and the release date of the movie.
Flo has his Master’s Degree in German and currently teaches German at a college in Paris.
He also creates ASMR videos for his YouTube channel, Paris ASMR.
Flo became inspired to create a video which merged together relaxing music, tingly French whispers, scenes of Paris, and hypnotic street dancing.
Nick has his B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Victoria and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
Nick is also known as the ASMR artist, theASMRnerd. He has created over 130 ASMR videos since February of 2013 and currently has almost 36,000 followers.
And I must confess, “theASMRnerd” is definitely one of my favorite ASMR artist names.

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has recently joined the small group of big name companies that have created ASMR-inspired ads.
Dove chocolate released two ASMR-inspired ads in November 2015 and Pepsi posted a short ASMR-inspired ad in April 2016.
And now Colonel Sanders continues the big name tingle-athon.
Sarah Burton attended Penn State in Pennsylvania, USA and received a B.A. in Journalism, a B.A. in Political Science and a M.A. in Media Studies.
She is currently living in Brooklyn, New York where she performs improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade and is also a humor writer for Buzzfeed.
Sarah is also the voice behind the new Buzzfeed video series, “ASMR News Now”.
Jolien Morren has her Bachelor’s degree in Marine biology and Ecology & Evolution and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Biology and Science Communication and Society at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
Jolien also creates ASMR videos for her YouTube channel, RelaxingSounds92, and for her blog, Sepiola.
I was very interested in talking with Jolien about ASMR after reading the subtitle of her blog, “Biologist and science communicator in the making, ASMR YouTuber, blogger”.
I knew she would have some valuable biological, evolutionary, and other related thoughts about ASMR.
Several months ago I reported about Dove Chocolate releasing two ASMR-inspired marketing videos.
The videos were well done and it was exciting to see a big name company incorporate ASMR into a marketing campaign.
I was even more excited by a report that they collected physiological data from viewers of these videos and the data will be made publicly available – as announced in an online article on October 23, 2015,
