Imagine over 1000 people at a convention. Every person is there because they share an appreciation, a passion, a commitment, and/or a genuine curiosity for ASMR.
The attendees are expected to be ASMR artists, ASMR fans, health professionals, scientists, researchers, and all those with a deep interest in ASMR.
The activities will most likely include Q&A with popular artists, round tables on the art and culture of ASMR, panel discussions on mental health, presentations with results of ASMR research, and demonstrations of the best equipment and technology for creating and enjoying ASMR.
Desiring something more interactive and deeply relaxing? This opportunity for live group ASMR sessions will probably not go wasted.
And of course, expect to mingle, meet, and get to know the heart of the ASMR community.
I started with “imagine” because it has not happened yet. The ink (and sweat) has just dried on getting the venue booked, the dates set, and the website created.

When will the convention be held?
Saturday, September 19th, 2015.
Where will the convention be held?
The convention will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Learn more about this venue at http://www.anaheimconventioncenter.com.
Anaheim is the home of Disneyland and is about 30 miles south of Los Angeles. You can fly to the large, international airport in Los Angeles, and/or fly directly into the smaller regional airport in Anaheim.
Who are the organizers?
The organizers are Paige Towers and Bryan Shigekawa. Paige and Bryan connected after an ASMR artist noticed they both were trying to organize separate ASMR conventions on opposite coasts of the U.S.
Paige is an east coast writer who has her MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Emerson College, teaches writing at Monroe College in the Bronx, NY, and is currently hard at work on a narrative nonfiction book about ASMR. She has experience planning and promoting literary events.
Bryan is a west coast producer based in Los Angeles. He has helped produce hundreds of comedy shows and concerts. He also has a heart for the greater community and has volunteered his time in putting together various concerts that raised money for Haiti and a camp for foster kids.
What is the cost to attend?
This has not been set yet but all tickets will be sold through Kickstarter, and donations will also be accepted through Kickstarter. There will be a standard ticket price, as well as a certain number of promotional tickets. Tickets will be sent to attendees via email.
The higher priced, promotional tickets will come with special offers. These special offers may include meeting popular ASMR artists in a small and personal group setting, having a tailor-made ASMR video created for you, receiving a massage at the convention, and/or other possibilities.
All the details will be available on the Kickstarter page which is expected to launch by June 13th, 2015.
