  1. 1. It does not feel exactly the same as a sexual response but it is so similar that all I can truly describe it best as, is a head orgasm, if I truly want someone else to understand what I am experiencing. I would like to learn how to combine ASMR with sexual orgasm to enhance both experiences.
    2. The build up, intense pleasure and release specifically caused by an intimate trigger is how my ASMR is similar to a sexual response.
    3. Sexual response make me tired after orgasm. ASMR leaves me energized.

  2. ASMR is not inherently a sexual feeling. It’s like receiving a physical massage, the intended purpose is for you to de-stress, relax, and be comforted. However, some people find massages to be arousing, which is perfectly fine. The same is true with ASMR. Some people are aroused by it, even though that’s not its intended purpose. So, if you hear about a friend or someone else you know is getting into ASMR, you can safely assume that it’s not some sort of fetish acronym like BDSM, but rather, a new take on meditation and sleep aid.

  3. No its normally not sexual. However you can still experience it while having sex. Ex. My partner whispering in my ear. Whispering would be the trigger.

  4. Personally, ASMR is not sexual. I think the sexual stigma surrounding ASMR is due to several things. The first is the misconception that close and personal relations involving touching is sexual by default. NOT TRUE!! These preconceptions, I believe, are heightened in part due to the enormous popularity of physically attractive ASMRtists/Content Creators. Don’t get me wrong here, its blatantly apparent that many creators are leveraging sex appeal to complement their ASMR content. But that’s not what most people seeking ASMR are after.

When I watch an ASMR video (I am more triggered by females) I feel a connection with the ASMRtist. But that connection transcends sexuality. Its likely the most intangible connections I have ever experienced.
