  1. -What physical sensations do you feel?
It’s a tingling feeling similar to goosebumps just before the goosebumps physically appear on your skin, but it can last anywhere from a split second to a few minutes and it usually feels like a cool ripple flowing through my body from one origin spot. sometimes there is very minimal or no tingles, but a light, levitating feeling in my brain that is really hard to describe.

-Where do you feel these sensations on your body?
I can feel them all over my body but they typically originate at the nape of my neck and flow outwards from there. Sometimes the ripples stop at my ribs but other times they flow all the way to my toes.

-What emotional and psychological sensations do you feel?
I feel instantly calmer and more emotionally balanced. I feel relaxed but also extremely focused. certain triggers help me to be more productive and I find that having asmr audio on in the background increases my work output (this includes both physical labor and things like paperwork) nearly double than without it.

    -How strong are the sensations?
This really depends on a lot of factors, like how bad my mood was to begin with, the environment I’m in, what sort of triggers are involved and if they are video, audio, in-person, or a combination of them. I find that the strongest sensations are triggered while listening to asmr-specific audio through headphones in a public place that is not too hectic such as an uncrowded subway car or a cafe. Under those conditions, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the strongest I’ve ever felt, I get a pretty consistent 8-9.

    -How long does it last?
The actual tingles generally don’t last very long, but they can come in waves in close succession. The longest I’ve experienced these waves for was a couple of minutes so long as whatever triggered them hasn’t stopped. The residual effects, however, last much longer. A 1-hour ASMR video is generally enough to perk me up to get through the rest of the day on days that I am feeling depressed or anxious so long as the depression/anxiety is not too severe.

  2. While everyone of course internalizes the sensation of ASMR a little differently, for us it is a neurological stimulation that is triggered by a combination of audio and visual stimuli resulting in a pleasurable nerve sensation across the scalp and occasionally the entire body.

  3. -What physical sensations do you feel?
The tingles feel like goosebumps, only in a good way.

-Where do you feel these sensations on your body?
I’ve read a lot of comments that people mostly get them on/in their head, but for me I get them mostly on my thighs and legs! I get them on my head too, and torso etc, but mostly on my thighs and legs.

-What emotional and psychological sensations do you feel?
I’m not sure how to answer this question as it’s mostly a physical sensation, but it does feel relaxing and makes me sleepy. I also find it hard to focus on anything else that is happening in that moment.

    -How strong are the sensations?
The tingles can be everything from very light to very strong.

    -How long does it last?
The tingles lasts only a couple of seconds each, but the relaxing and sleepy sensation can last a long time.

  4. The sensation for me is hard to describe. It reminds me very much of the pleasurable feeling when someone lightly runs their fingers along your back, or plays with your hair, but this physical sensation is triggered without any physical touch at all. It’s primarily in the back of my head and neck, though sometimes it can spread further down my back. It’s warm and comforting.
