Similar to someone brushing my hair but, it’s more internal–a very pleasant physical sensation that doesn’t last long.I feel it in the back of my neck, head and eyes. It’s very relaxing, but it seems normal to me and doesn’t have any effect on judgment or ability to function. It’s a purely physical sensation that is relaxing. Also, I might add that I can’t completely explain or describe it. It always involves another person doing something like cleaning or working (or my recollection of the same), or talking with energy. The activity is usually something neutral ( with energy).

When I am meeting with someone who is intensely involved with their work and needs my participation , or even a child doing a task that I am very involved with as well I have long experienced this sensation that is now named ASMR. I recall that in some instances the sensation goes beyond a “brain tingle” and involves my upper torso as well. I didn’t read any other comments on this topic as I wanted to share this experience I have had for a number of years.

The mildest ASMRs makes me feel tingling in my scalp. If I’m having an intense ASMR, I feel goosbumps on my scalp, especially the back of my head, neck and upper spine. sometimes I get goosbumps all over my body, and I can feel electrical surges all over my body, it feels like I’m being acupunctured.
It makes me feel safe, calm, somewhat sleepy, cuddly, I can’t get enough of it.
The intensity depends on the stimuli, its duration and who’s giving it, if the stimuli lasts for about 10 minutes or more ASMR can last even longer, it depends what I’m doing after the stimuli is over. if I embrace the relaxed state it will continue, but if I’ll have to focus on other stuff or be active, it’ll be gone. ASMR will last as long as the stimuli lasts in most cases.

It’s very hard to describe even though I’ve experienced this since childhood . Soothing tingling down neck and head, a calming clearing peaceful feeling to my mind. Or maybe even a non sexual continual orgazm to the brain.
Anyways, it’s hard to describe

– For me ASMR induces tingles and goosebumps going from the top of my head to the neck, back, lower back and even legs and toes depending on the trigger.
– What is interesting in my case is that it mostly happens only on the left side of my body (left arm and leg).
– It induces feelings of calmness and sleepiness. But sometimes, when there are distracting elements or the tingles get too strong I can even feel exaggerated anger for no apparent reason.
– Second or minutes with short pauses.
