Based on your ASMR experiences…
Explain if your ability to experience ASMR has ever gone away, include details like:
- Was it temporary or permanent?
- How long did it take to return if it came back?
- How often were you experiencing ASMR when it went away?
- Do you think there was anything else that contributed to your ASMR going away besides frequency of ASMR? (like medications, drugs, diet, stress, etc)
- Have you figured out a method to minimize getting decreased ASMR?

ASMR University 
It won’t go away, but sometimes you get it, for instance, with whispers, and some others, you won’t, why, I can’t say. I get my fix of asmr on youtube and sometimes I have to stop watching the same asmrtist because they stop giving me tingles. After a while I come back and there they are, tingles again.

No, it has been with me since I was young. My earliest memory of asmr was watching Frosty the Snowman in first grade, I kept rewinding the ending when Santa explained how he could come back alive again. At the time I had no idea why I watched that part repetatively. I’m in my thirties now and it is still relative to my daily life.

It can temporarily if overstimulated. If I watch too many ASMR videos too often, it might become more difficult to get the tingles. It is like the sensation dulls. In order to fix this, I just stop watching ASMR videos for a few days or maybe a week, and the tingle sensation returns.

I surely hope not! If one finds that they’re not being triggered perhaps exploring and researching other triggers to find a new one. I would imagine you could get “burned out” if you use the same trigger over and over again.

I’m afraid mine has gone away. I was definitely overstimulated, it was torture. What can I do to heal? Is there anything?
